What we are, and what we are not
Are you a school, college or tutoring company?
No. RSH Bury Ltd is an independent education and learning planning service. We do not teach, tutor or assess anyone. We do not hold places on any course, and we are not attached to any institution. Our work is research, comparison and planning, and the teaching itself is delivered by whichever provider you choose.
Can you guarantee exam results, grades or a place?
No. We do not guarantee passes, grades, results, places or admission to any institution, and we make no claim to improve a learner’s marks by any amount. Anyone who offers a guarantee of that kind is offering something nobody can deliver. What we do provide is accurate research, an honest comparison and a plan that can be followed.
Are your staff qualified teachers or DBS checked?
We do not present ourselves as teachers and we make no claims about regulated teaching qualifications or background-check status, because we do not hold ourselves out as a teaching service. We are planners and researchers. Where a service genuinely requires a regulated teacher or a checked professional — tuition, for example — that is provided by the relevant provider, and it is worth asking them directly.
Are you registered or rated by any regulator?
No. We make no claim to be registered with, approved by or rated by Ofsted or any other education regulator, and we would ask you to be sceptical of any planning service that claims otherwise without evidence.
Practical questions
What ages do you work with?
We work with learners from secondary-school age upwards, and with adults returning to study or retraining. Where the learner is under 18, the process is led by a parent or guardian, who provides the information we work from and consents to its use.
How do the fees work?
Each stage has a fixed price from £45 to £195, agreed in writing before the work starts. There is no commission, no percentage of any course fee, and nothing owed once a stage is complete. If you stop after the first stage, you pay only for that stage.
How long before we have a plan?
Most plans are delivered within three weeks of the first conversation. Where a route depends on results, a provider response or an application deadline, it can take longer, and we will flag that as soon as we see it.
Can everything be done online?
Yes. Conversations are normally held by telephone or video call, and plans are delivered as documents you keep. In-person sessions can be arranged by agreement, and there is no requirement to travel.
Do you collect information about children?
Where a learner is under 18, the information we work from is provided by a parent or guardian and used with their consent. We do not ask a child to supply personal details directly, we do not build profiles of children, and we do not share a learner’s information with any provider without the guardian’s agreement. Can a plan be changed part-way through?
Yes, and it usually needs to be. Plans are reviewed against what is actually happening. Adjustments within the scope of the original brief are part of the work; if the brief itself changes substantially, we will quote separately before doing anything further.
What if you cannot help?
We will say so in the first conversation. If a question needs a solicitor, an immigration adviser or a benefits specialist, for example, we will tell you that plainly rather than attempt it.
